About Us

Periscope Designs was founded in 2004 by Todd Schuh. Mr. Schuh got his start working on computers as a hobby back in the days when there were Commodore PET computers and Radio Shack TRS-80 machines. He continued working with computers and programming on these early computers, until his skills helped him into the job market. He worked for years in the direct mail industry managing databases on mainframe computers and developing some of the first client-server systems bringing together PC based systems in the field to communicate with mainframe based databases back in the shop.

After many years in the direct mail industry, Mr. Schuh then moved to Imperial Sugar Company where he was database administrator and was instrumental in implementing and administrating Imperial's PeopleSoft accounting and human resource system.

Upon leaving Imperial Sugar, Mr. Schuh moved on to lead the team of administrators overseeing Compaq Computer Corporation's Application Administration group. This group managed all of Compaq's internal servers worldwide, with the exception of Internet and SAP servers. This group had to know about SQL Server, Oracle, and many other technologies to diagnose and manage issues as they arose. At Compaq, Mr. Schuh developed a custom interface to allow the internal customers to submit requests to the group into Compaq's Remedy ticket system via a web site. This allowed customers to quickly submit tickets and get them routed in the shortest time possible.

Mr. Schuh started Periscope Designs to offer service back into an industry that had become all too automated.
